If the CWM is 5kg x 9. 81N x 0. 4m which equals 19. 62Nm then the ACWM needs to equal 19. 62Nm. I know the distance from the pivot is 0. 15m, so if I divide 19. 62Nm by the 0. 15m I will get the value for which the pressure of the carbon dioxide is coming out of the fermenting vessel, which is 130. 8N. There are several limitations for these two valves which are; they might not be as sensitive as they could be, not able to detect small changes in pressure. Also they are self running it could taken longer for it to get fixed if it breaks rather than if it relied on a human operating it, so in that the fact that it was broken would get fixed quicker. The equipment is expensive as there is lots of metal On the other hand there are many different advantages for these valves, which are; the position of the counterweight can be easily adjusted to compensate with different amounts of pressure from within the tank or from outside. Also the design of the mechanism is of a very simple one, this is an advantage because it is vary easy to understand and therefore it is less likely for a human to break it. The mechanism is also not likely to break again because it is a simple deign which means that there are fewer things which can go wrong. The mechanisms can also self-reset, this means that it can close itself and repeat the operation over and over again without human intervention, this is an advantage because it can run itself without any need for human intervention. The mechanism has low-cost maintenance, this means that the two valves need little human activity to kept these mechanisms running and that it wont cost much to kept them running. To develop this equipment further you could control it via computer. This would ensure accurate changes it the valves to adjust to the different conditions facing them more easily. The pressure relief valve could be used for hot water systems, gases and non-corrosive fluids. Introduction (Background) It has been noticed that increasingly growing number of International students and employees within UK have brought varieties into the food market where people can have more options when consuming food. Additionally, young adults nowadays are more aware of eating healthily especially when they barely have spare time to cook for themselves and they would go for comparatively healthier options. We therefore considered start up a new business launching rice food products with the positioning concept of â€Å"fast food have never been this healthy† to catch up with the trend in today’s food market after research regarding the fast food restaurant market in Newcastle City Centre area where less healthy and premium-priced fast food are abundant and we found a gap in the medium to low priced and more healthy section if we refer to the marketing map (appendix 1). Idea generation and screening According to Kotler (2010), ‘a new product development begins with idea generation-the systematic search for new product ideas’. The new business ideas are generated mainly from two sources i.e. external and internal idea sources. The former contains ideas from customers, competitor, distributors, suppliers etc. whereas the latter involves the R&D activities within a firm. After we have determined to enter the fast food market and have conducted research regarding this market in Newcastle City Centre area as our starting point, we generated several ideas including brand name, product concept, and food ranges and options etc. in a brainstorming with the feedback from market research. In this process we took the trends within fast food market and lifestyle of young adults into account. I presume brainstorming serves as an appropr... ...nces among differing groups of individuals. Additionally, business world is rapidly changing every day, so is market condition, marketing environment, and consumer behaviour etc. Therefore new-product development process should be altered accordingly. For instance, more attention will be paid to the issues including virus marketing, social media, online marketing, corporate social responsibility and environmental and ethical issues etc. As a result, in the near future, this process will be more customer-oriented with more factors of importance being taken into account in both product development stage and marketing strategy planning and implementing. Furthermore, new techniques in regards of better quantifying a success of a product concept and marketing plan should be invented within the process to reduce the potential risk of failure when the product is launched.

Givers versus Takers Essay

There is a reason why the biblical phrase â€Å"it is better to give than to receive† is so popular. For a long time, authors described successful people in business as having talent and luck, but nowadays according to Adam Grant, they share another quality; they give back (Brandom, 2013, para 1). In this context a dilemma surfaces. One component that distinguishes organized cultures is whether the cultures themselves are framed by giver or taker philosophies. The main reasons that make the giver culture better is the preferences for reciprocity, the mission of the company, and the success of the philosophy. In the frenetic world of business development, companies differ in their preferences for reciprocity. At this point in time, most businesses are anchored with two extremes: the takers and the givers. In giver environments, employees operate as high-performing intelligence to: help others, share knowledge, offer mentoring, and make connections without expecting anything in return. At the other end of the spectrum, the norm is to get as much as possible from others while contributing less in return. Taker employees help only when they expect the personal benefits to exceed the costs, as opposed to when the organizational benefits outweigh the personal costs (Grant, 2013, para. 3). Takers are selfish, and evaluate what other people can give them. Givers, however, are characterized for being selfless, giving more emphasis to what others require from them. Many people limit the giver label to prodigious heroes such as Mahatma Gandhi. Phenomenal acts are not required for being a giver, only strategic acts (Grant, 2013, para 15). Giver and takers are not defined by their affinity for money. Rather, they differ in their attitudes and actions toward other people. A Company environment starts with the organization’s leadership, and how they create, communicate, and behave to support the mission. In this context, there are two aspects that identify what kind of CEO a company has, and, as a result of their actions, how the mission is established. The first indication is their speech. The takers tend to use first-person singular pronouns, like â€Å"I† and â€Å"me,† while the givers use â€Å"us† and â€Å"we†. The second aspect is the CEO’s character’s reflection on the company. Takers believe that it is all about them. For example, they usually think, â€Å"I am the single most important figure in this company†. When you look at their photos in the company’s annual reports, they have larger photos, and they are more likely to be pictured alone. On the other hand, giver leaders consider the company as a whole, and how everyone is an essential part of it. Due to this perspective, they prefer to be pictured with the entire team. After the type of CEO is identified, the mission of their company becomes clear. It is recognizable that a mission based on giver beliefs benefits the helping nature within the company and assists the employees to freely contribute their knowledge and skills to others. Giver companies achieve a greater and more meaningful success than taker companies. Both givers and takers can achieve success. Nevertheless, there is a peculiar difference that happens when givers succeed. It disperses and cascades in a way that creates a ripple effect, enhancing the success of people around them.. In consequence, people around them are rooting for and supporting them. Unlike givers, when takers win, there is usually someone else who loses, and people tend to envy successful takers. The principal difference lies in how giver success creates value, instead of just claiming it (Popova, 2013, para 17). The approach to a giver’s success is determined over a long period of time. The results of the strategies are not immediate; however, it has a long-term repercussion in the company development. In contrast to givers, takers may achieve success, but it is likely to be short-lived and not rooted in meaningful or equitable relationships (Stanger, 2013, para. 4). In fact, the patterns of success based on reciprocity giver’s philosophy are remarkably efficient. In conclusion, givers and takers are philosophies of business interaction, but the lines between them are defined by differences in reciprocity, mission, and work outcomes. Namely, giving culture in a company is the best option which provides genuine support, better satisfaction of the clients, and an increase in the productivity of the employee system.
